Workshop History
The Multidimensional Chromatography Workshop (MDCW) brings together experts from around the world to share and discuss the latest advancements in this dynamic field. Designed as an informal yet highly informative event, the workshop provides a unique platform for both experienced researchers and newcomers to explore the capabilities of multidimensional chromatography. Topics range from cutting-edge technological developments to novel applications of this powerful analytical technique.
The first nine editions of MDCW were held at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Toronto, Canada, under the leadership of Professor Eric Reiner. What began as a small gathering of experts brainstorming solutions to multidimensional chromatography challenges evolved into a major event, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers and industry professionals.
In 2018, the workshop transitioned to new leadership, ensuring its continued growth and impact. Dr. Pierre-Hugues Stefanuto and Dr. Katelynn Perrault Uptmor took over the organization, hosting the 10th Multidimensional Chromatography Workshop in Liège, Belgium, in 2019. Their contributions have been pivotal in shaping the workshop’s modern format and expanding its reach.
In 2019, Dr. Dwight Stoll joined the organizing committee, enhancing enhancing the program by integrating content on two-dimensional liquid chromatography (2D-LC). His efforts have significantly broadened the workshop’s scope and influence.
In 2023, Dr. Petr Vozka became part of the organizing committee and hosted the 15th Multidimensional Chromatography Workshop—marking the first time the event was held on the West Coast of the United States. Following the success of this edition, he officially joined the organizing committee, further ensuring its continued success in future years.
With a strong foundation and a dedicated team of organizers, MDCW remains a premier event for multidimensional chromatography professionals, driving innovation and collaboration in the field.
